Call to order
We met outdoors at HPL from 6:10 pm to 7:25 pm

Minutes
Of the 5/20/21 meeting were read.

Financial Report
Balance: $2948.83, including @ $480 from May’s plant sale.

Publicity
Helen continues to publish in RTE; Liz updates our website. Our Facebook Page needs to change administrator.
We thank Helen and Liz for their great work. Lorrie will research how to become the new Administrator.

School Liaison
No report, due to COVID. However, Liz did mention that there is a Children’s Book Week in Nov. to promote reading.

Book Club
Ellie announced a meeting time change to 6 pm. They have been outdoors this summer but will soon gather inside , near the computers.

Programs
Very few came to the Summer Reading Program, probably due to COVID. Expect next year to be better.
Storytime, Puppet Theater, and Crafts are postponed until COVID situation improves.

Old Business
The Board has cancelled moving the Library. The Board will research what to do with moneys already received.

The Bicentennial Book Sale will be 9/25, from 10 am to @noon, outdoors, weather permitting. We will set up @ 8:30 am. Monetary donations will be accepted.

New Business
The Annual Meeting will be a regular meeting.
Some discussion was held regarding the library’s and/or a community garden. Space doesn’t allow a community garden at HPL unless the current perennials are dug out.
An air purifier is needed for both the downstairs and the upstairs that will negate the corona virus. Jen has already some info. Maureen motioned that the Friends purchase one after further research. Lorrie will seek federal dollars.
Kathie will research Aerus as a possible choice and forward that information to Jen.
We will have a plant (yard?) sale next spring. Start thinking about how you can participate.

Next Meeting
Thurs., Oct. 21st, 6 pm.
Jen will inform us as to “live” or “Zoom.”

Respectfully submitted,
Kathie Clark, Secretary, Friends of HPL
