Financial Report
Maureen presented a 2020 Budget as well as a 5-year projected budget. Mark Brooks is the BOT Treasurer.
Budget was voted and approved unanimously. Expenses can be given to Nick, who keeps a folder at the Library.

The unexpired President’s term needed to be filled.
Jen Mabee was unanimously elected.

Nick continues Sat. Story Hour and Puppet Show.

The Park Pass was underutilized. Continue advertising and promoting its use.

Crafts are offered most 3rd Saturdays. See below for details.

“Sewing with Patience” is not only working on individuals’ projects but also is preparing several items for the Children’s Christmas Fund.

Jeanine Deas, a Central Maine author, offers a grief presentation with her book, “Anna’s Little Buddy.” Liz will contact her in Jan. or Feb. to schedule this program.

Tracy Hart of the Audubon Society has a program on loons. Liz will schedule this in early May. Mr. Vezina has offered to cover the honorarium.

School Liaison
Liz and Helen had a table at SVE School’s Open House 9/27. Library card applications and bookmarks were distributed. Liz is researching the possibility of having high school students tutor at HPL to fulfill their community service hours.
Community Reads Day will be next spring. Meanwhile, Libby, Jen, and Ellie are reading one-on-one to children weekly at SVES. 23 cards have, so far, resulted! Teachers plan to bring their classes to tour HPL.

Helen keeps our community informed via RTE. She may also connect with Sue Bowman of the Chamber of Commerce in Newport.

Old Business
The Little Free Library will be placed next spring as part of Hartland’s Bicentennial Celebration. We will need a plaque for it. Also, ask the Town where it should be placed.

Ellie and Jen attended the Oct. BOT meeting. Ellie presented a Friends quarterly report that evinced much interest among the Board members. Kathie will email Minutes of each Friends meeting to BOT and prepare the quarterly report.

New Business
Revisit our goals for the Nov. meeting.
Give this some thought.

Upcoming Events
