Minutes of 11/19/2018 Meeting

Call to order
Review of Mission and Bylaws
Helen led review. Several revisions were made. See attachment.
The revised edition will be voted on at our next meeting, Jan. 17, 2019.
Liz has planned a Community Read Day for next May at St Albans Consolidated (and perhaps Hartland Christian.) – Let Liz know if you want to participate.
Volunteering at those 2 schools may happen.
Beth brought a handout to St. Albans school:
HPL Wants Your Business! Well accepted, &
will be distributed to students and parents. – We got copies at this meeting. If you weren’t in attendance &/or want more, contact Beth.
What to do re Palmyra students’ library card? – Will be discussed at Jan. Board meeting

Helen will continue RTE notices, including the Book Club’s Dec. selection, Sea Prayer, by Khaled Hosseini.
Financial Report and Budget Planning
Maureen’s report: Income $10 membership + $100 donation. Expense: author visit $30
Update Hartland C S
Nick, Kathie, Ellie, David, John, and Samantha will represent Friends on the Transition Committee.
Committee will meet monthly with ITCC and KVCAP re possible move of HPL to the current Hartland Consolidated Sch.
Craft Fair Sat., 12/1, downstairs, 9 am to 1pm – Beth and Kathie will help; 8:30 to set up
Concert? (wasn’t discussed)
Coffee House: Tim recommends having it open to all ages; chaperones as needed. Food to include home made desserts. Coffee may be donated. Events: music, travel slides, puppet show, readings…
Ad: RTE, posters, Facebook, word of mouth
Suggest donation – We will discuss more ideas at January’s meeting. First CH will be in February.

Collaborative Summer Reading Program: A Universe of Stories is the theme, in memory of the moon landing 50 years ago – Check out http://www.smilingotis.com

Christmas Tree decorating – Cub scouts will make decorations.
Faith Mabee agreed to be one of our school representatives. She is age 10, in grade 5.
