Minutes of the May 16, 2019 Meeting

Call to order
Beth opened the meeting at 6pm.
4/18/19 minutes were approved as presented.
Reviewing our processes: Invoices of @$20 go to Maureen (her mail folder at HPL) for payment. Amounts of over that will either come to our next meeting or be approved by emailing officers.
Amazon Smile has brought us $6.58 the first 3 months of 2019.
Re honoraria: tabled till next meeting.
New Balance: Maureen will provide.
Liz gave out library applications, bookmarks, SRP brochures, and pencils at the Literacy Fair. She will represent us next fall at Open House.
Community Reads, 5/3 and 5/31. 6 Friends have participated. Volunteer training 5/31.
Yard, Book, and Plant Sale 6/1 – We took in $486.00.
Sand Art went well. The 2 Lyme Videos plus David’s instructions on using permethrin were appreciated. Sewing with Patience has a small but grateful following. Nick gave tours to 4 groups from St. Albans School: very positive response.

June13, 6 pm, Donna Dyrek: organic gardening – Bring your questions.
July: a photographer friend of Tim’s – Beth will contact Tim for more info.
August: Michael Rekrut, Hiking in Nepal – Maureen will get publicity info to Helen.
May 28, 7 pm: Let’s Talk About It – The first book is Wintersong. Next month’s will be on The Long-Distance Runner.
SRP offers many exciting topics and prizes. Registration is on-going until 6/29

Blow-up Planetarium – This wasn’t available this year.
Book Box to celebrate Hartland’s 200th anniversary – Tiemer Rowe has given us an invoice. Maureen will present it to Board.
Transition Plan with Beth and John’s moving. They will be sorely missed. Ellie will serve as Interim President until October’s Annual Meeting.
Story Hour every Sat. at 10:30 am

May 29: Fish Biologist Wes Ashe, 7 pm
May 30: Trustee Meeting re fundraising, 6 pm – Interested Friends are invited. KVCAP, HPL, and ITCC will meet. Nick has begun to apply for grants. To build an all-new library will cost > $1 million, to renovate the existing school: @ $200,000.
May 31: Community Reads 9 am; Volunteer Training at noon.
June 1: Yard/Plant/Book Sale 9 am to 1 pm
