Financial Report

Publicity/School Liaison
Helen reports that we continue to get published in the RTE. Helen reached out to Chamber. Chamber would cost $50/year; $40 prorated for this year. Discussion as to whether there are benefits that make this worthwhile, and decision was not to pursue right now.

Now is time to put word out on Plant Sale on website for people to think about seedlings for sale. Discussion on where to store plants for sale. Will bring to Library on Friday afternoon before sale. Also people can drop off beginning at 8 am. Nick will be there to open up downstairs for us. Liz will add something about Plant Sale to website. Jen will reach out to Irene White to see if she can draw up poster art.

No school liaison activity given COVID restrictions. We will not be distributing paper flyers/signups for Summer Reading program at school. Will be online signup. More discussion next month re Summer Reading Program setup and outreach plan.

Virtual Storytime is using beginner chapter books.
Virtual Book Club meets monthly. Great attendance at last meeting.
Liz will add ReadME books to schedule on website for Adult Book group.

Old Business
Grants have been submitted toward the New Library. No word yet on HUD grant. No timeline for construction yet. Board set deadline for October meeting to see what has been raised thus far. Budget is $750K, but put $1M in HUD grant that includes wish list items.
So far, no response to the Essay Contest.
Summer Reading Program: see above re outreach and more discussion at next meeting.
Spring Plant Sale: Date will be 5/22, from 9 to 11 am. See above for discussion on publicity for it.
