Friends of HPL, Minutes of 1/21/21 Meeting

Call to order
Zoom meeting, 6:09 to 6:39 pm
Of the 11/19/20 meeting were accepted.
Balance remains $2287. A reimbursement for our website fee of $79.16 needs to be made to Liz.
Liz will inform Maureen and Mark to cut the check.
An opening exists on the HPL Board.
Nick has noted that on Facebook. Liz will post it on the HPL website.
Nick offers Virtual Storytime Saturdays, 10:30.
The Virtual Book Club continues.
Jen suggests waiting on Kids Programs until they can be in person.

As of 1/22, $1 has made the building ours. No grants have yet been received, so actual architectural plans will wait. KVCAP has begun the foundation of its new building.
Report to HPL Board. Jen will email this.
Fundraising: How about a plant sale in spring? Several members will prepare plants to offer in an outdoor sale, date TBD.
Dues reminders. Maureen will send by email. Jen will email Kathie any names to be deleted from the Friends email list.
Jen presented a “Tween Change the World” Essay Contest, open to 10-13-year-olds: “Describe how you think we could make the world a better place.” Due by 2/28/21. Submit at email@example.com. Nick, Liz, and Kathie will help “judge.” (See attachment.)

HPL has replaced the mini-fridge (which died last April) with one that has a freezer. Ice cream, anyone?
