Minutes of 04/18/2019 Meeting
Present: Ellie Davids, Helen Gallagher, Irene Snow, John Clark, Jen Mabee
Call to Order: 6pm. Adjourned 7pm.
03/21/2019 minutes: Accepted unanimously with date correction (03/2/19 to 03/21/19).
Financial Report: 1) Previous balance $1860.48
2) Unanimous approval for $105 State Park Pass and $32.14 for craft supplies (Melody Braley and Beth Clark}
Move Progress: No discussion as Nick was absent. Continue at next meeting.
School Liaison: Community Reads, 5/3 and 5/31
Fundraising: 1) Yard/Book/Plant Sale Sat. 06/01/19 9am 1pm
-Irene will design poster
-Helen will advertise in newspapers and on Facebook
-John will advertise in Uncle Henrys and on various other websites
-Looking for seedlings, flowers, housewares, and of course books
-Wrapping up details at next meeting

2) John disclosed a secret fundraising technique (involving losing lottery tickets). He
recently earned enough losing points to buy a computer which he then delivered to the St. Albans Elementary School. *This is the fourth computer he has donated to schools this way!

-With Needles and Patience – meeting Thursdays 3pm 4:30pm
-Lyme Talk – 4 people attended
-Family Reading Carnival great turnout
=Ellie and The Lyons Club would like to thank everyone who helped out. Over 1000
Books entered our community!!
=There was a good steady flow of families with great child participation.

=A few questions were left for Nick: When does school end, and has there been
outreach regarding program? Is there an attraction for opening day? Will programming
budget pay for attractions?
Publicity: Helen will advertise for Summer Reading Program and (yard sale).
Old Business: 1) Planetarium should be reserved soon.
2) Boyscouts coming to weed gardens, date TBD
New Business: 1) A Little Library is being considered to commemorate Hartlands 200th Anniversary In 2020. (Possibly in conjunction with the Board of Trustees)
-An estimate given by Tiemre Rowe (who built one for St. Albans) was $400-$450
-Sentiment of those present was universally favorable
-A suggested spot is near the Town Office/Gazebo
2)State Park Pass
-Cost is $105 A family may check out the State Park Pass for 1 day
-FOL voted and approved motion to buy pass for library patrons
-Helen will advertise
-John will pick up pass on Monday in Augusta
